The Mission of the Cambridge Historical Society is to collect and preserve the historical documents and artifacts for the greater Cambridge area. It also maintains the historical 1869 Victorian house that serves as the Cambridge Historical Society Museum, located on 12 Broad Street. The museum is a splendid example of period architecture, with rooms that include displays of 19th century Cambridge-made furniture, Revolutionary and Civil War memorabilia, firefighting exhibits, early china, pewter, 19th century textiles, spinning wheels, toys and much more. Open Tuesday and Saturday, from 1 to 3 p.m., June 1-Nov. 1, or by appointment, Special exhibits and programs throughout the summer.
